FabFilter Pro-DS is an intelligent de-esser designed to attenuate sibilance in vocal recordings while maintaining transparency. It features two detection algorithms: 'Single Vocal' mode for accurate sibilance identification on individual vocal tracks, and 'Allround' mode for high-frequency limiting on drums and full mixes. With wide band or linear-phase split band processing, program-dependent compression/limiting, lookahead up to 15ms, and adjustable stereo linking with mid-only or side-only processing options, Pro-DS delivers surgical de-essing without artifacts. The real-time de-essing display shows exactly which portions of audio are being affected, while up to 4x linear-phase oversampling ensures pristine sound quality. Instance List integration with Pro-Q 4, Pro-C 3, and Pro-G allows efficient multi-track control.
